What is so special about South Palm Desert?
South Palm Desert is special, which is why our focus is here. Great weather includes being out of the "wind belt". The regular forceful winds that characterize much of the Coachella Valley blows past, often without a stir.
Our listings are previewed by owners in other upscale communities who are tired of having to drive a distance no matter what they want to do. The heart of Palm Desert is the famous El Paseo shopping district, but also includes Trader Joe's, Jensen's, Vons, Albertsons, and numerous coffee shops and cafés. Many of our neighbors take pride in the fact that they are able to do most of their errands, including visits to friends in Indian Wells, using their golf carts or other electric vehicles.
Developments like Silver Spur ranch are surrounded by parks such as Ironwood and the Living Desert in addition to many other opportunities for great street riding or walking. One of our favorite things to do is to take a picnic up Highway 74 toward the Santa Rosa cutoff and enjoy much cooler weather for the evening.
Property values are supported by all of these things, plus the fact that many properties are being purchased and fixed up. You might find a home next to an older or less maintained property, but rest assured it will not likely be long before someone will purchase it and turn it into a piece of art.
